As a seasoned expert in CBRNe (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) risk management, Mr. Custaud has extensive experience conducting fact-finding missions and leading training initiatives across North Africa, Sahel, West Africa, Eastern and Central Africa, Gulf Cooperation Council, Middle East, South-East and Eastern Europe, South-East Asia and Central Asia. His work spans numerous CBRN Capacity Building projects, including P.35, P.41, P.55, P.69, P.71, P.82, P.88, P.95, P.98, and P.99, all supported by the European Commission FPI (Foreign Policy Instruments) under the EU CBRN Centers of Excellence Initiative.

Mr. Custaud is also actively engaged in a variety of research and development projects funded by the European Commission under programs such as FP7, H2020, JIP-CBRN, and Horizon Europe. He has contributed to Security Research in Europe since the PASR (Preparatory Action for Security Research) program in 2005.

Mr. Custaud held several positions in consultancy firms in Singapore, The Netherlands, Belgium, and France, where he focused on CBRN issues, including both medical and non-medical countermeasures. He led research projects and studies funded by organizations such as EDA, NATO, DG HOME, and DG MOVE.

Starting his career as the Coordinator of the European Task Force on Bioterrorism at EuropaBio - The European Association for Biotechnology Industry, Mr. Custaud actively contributed to several Green Papers on topics such as Detection Technologies and Bio-Preparedness. His expertise was frequently sought for contributions to the EU CBRN Action Plan.

Mr. Custaud holds multiple master’s degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and the Political Science Institute (IEP) in Aix-en-Provence. He also earned an MBA in Strategic Intelligence from the Ecole de Guerre Economique in Paris, France.
